Engagement by Design
We'll review the subtle art of black & white hat engagement techniques.
We'll start by drafting a simple antropological model of the software user, which will guide us in reviewing UI design, principles, engagement and gamification techniqes that can be used in designing new software solutions. We'll take techniques from gaming contests which can make sense in non-gaming applications.
This way we'll indirectly give a deeper sense to gamification techniques in contrast with gamification as "decoration" of existing design.
The principles will be cast in "lenses" - i.e. short review principles (ref. Jesse Schell The Art of Game Design).
